Glen Etive Holidays
Glen Etive Holidays offer peace and tranquility through our self-catering accomodation in beautiful Glen Etive, and the village of Ballachulish, in the heart of the Scottish highlands.
As described in the Visit Scotland website: visitors coming to the area to seek out the famous James Bond's Skyfall and Braveheart film location, following the driving route along the River Etive. For white water kayakers, the river is considered to be one of the most challenging white water kayaking routes in Scotland, including grade 4 rapids with a range of waterfalls and pools.
Kayakers are not the only ones who enjoy the glen: hikers, have great walking, mountain bikers, have wonderful cycle routes, canoeists, have the beautiful Loch Etive to themselves, and skiers can have up to 4 months of great skiing during the winter months. And for those simply seeking rest and a quiet place to recharge tired batteries there is nowhere like it in Scotland.

Absolutely amazing AirBnB. Clean, well-equipped and spacious and in the most amazing location anyone could hope for. Located down at the end of a road into one of Scotland’s most beautiful glens. We had the luck to be seeing stags right outside our windows every day, set against the most amazing mountains and loch. There’s no phone signal and no internet at the apartment so it’s all about relaxation and it was so nice being away from those distractions. There was TV, board games and plenty of local info. You’re well placed for some amazing walks as well so you’ll never be short of things to do. I’d love to come back to this AirBnB and spend more time watching for stags, eagles, grouse and all the other wildlife we saw on our time here.

Sheri’s place in the highlands was absolutely perfect. Her home is finished to an exceptionally high standard, with every eventuality considered down to every utensil, Tupperware if you want to go out on a picnic and the lovely bottle of cava upon our arrival. All of these were appreciated so much! Words cannot describe the views and landscape, when turning off from the main road, we drove along the most gorgeous path through the mountains to Sheri’s home. It’s the last home on the path which made it all the more special and secluded. The rooms were gorgeous, beds so comfy, bathrooms so modern and fully equipped, the kitchen is beautiful with everything you need. Sitting out on the decking looking over the loch was so special, and we were incredibly lucky with the weather! There were lots of midgies but we were expecting them and were prepared for them as you should be if you go to the Scottish highlands in the summer. It’s absolutely not a reflection on the property. We went as a family of 7 to celebrate a big wedding anniversary and it didn’t disappoint. We would recommend Sheri’s place in a heartbeat! Thank you!

The house is beautifully appointed and the furnishings high quality and comfortable. The kitchen is extremely well equipped , bedrooms and bathrooms are luxurious and the sitting room a delight , a spot to relax and survey what must be one of the most beautiful locations in Scotland . Hard to do Loch Etive the justice it deserves - and fearful of breaking the spell of a place which still holds on to a serenity and tranquility and the sparing hand of man - deer come out of the forest and graze in front of the house , you can set off around the loch and walk for miles , savouring a rich landscape where sea and river meet- the water is amazing if you can take the temperature ! This is one of the most spectacular and memorable places I have visited in many years of travelling . Don't miss the fresh eggs and jam from the farm a half hour walk back down the road - the idyll is truly complete .
