Situated at the end of stunning Glen Etive, Hollybank overlooks Loch Etive and is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Sleeping 8, it has recently been completely refurbished to a very high standard. It is available for stays of 3 nights or longer.
Ideally suited to those who enjoy seclusion and the outdoors, there are many trails and paths from outside the door, and Glencoe Mountain Ski Resort is nearby. The river Etive and Loch Etive are very popular for kayaking and Hollybank is ideally located for water sports.
The space
Situated at the head of Loch Etive, Hollybank is the last house at the end of the road that leads down the glen. From the A82 it is a 13 mile drive along a single track road, passing through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Scotland. It is secluded, suiting those in search of peace, quiet and solitude. Being 20 miles from the nearest amenities in Glencoe and Ballachulish it is important to be well stocked before you arrive!
The house has been completely modernised from top to bottom and is now a wonderfully comfortable and modern home, while maintaining a traditional feel.
There is a bright and welcoming hallway leading on to a large double-aspect lounge with stunning views south down Loch Etive.
The kitchen / dining room is well stocked with everything required in the modern kitchen.
There are four bedrooms - one with a king-sized bed, two with double beds and one with two single beds, so Hollybank sleeps up to 8. All rooms have wonderful views of either the loch or the majestic mountains.
There are three bathrooms, and all towels and linen are provided.
Being suited especially to outdoor pursuits the house has laundry facilities, with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Pets are not allowed in the house but there is a kennel in the garden and dogs are welcome. The garden is fully enclosed and safe.
Guest access
Guests who book Hollybank have exclusive use of the whole house.
Other things to note
For all guests, but winter guests especially, it is important to note that the house is in a remote part of the highlands. Ensure you have plenty of petrol (petrol stations are in Tyndrum, coming from the south and Glencoe Village, coming from the north) and plenty of provisions (the nearest supermarket is in Ballachulish, 20 miles away).
In the winter, a car with 4-wheel drive and winter tyres is a definite advantage!
There is currently no WiFi and no mobile phone signal, though a mobile mast is planned for the near future. There is a landline telephone in the house for the use of guests and the number will be given on confirmation of your booking.
Hollybank sleeps up to 8 adults and is available for £230 per night in the low season and £250 per night in the high season. Click here to enquire about availability and to book. Or book instantly via Airbnb.
